ICYMI – Who’s got the best style on the team? And who needs some help…? This video revealed Joe Ingles, Rodney Hood, and Alec Burks bestowing the worst dressed award to our dear Rudy G. In February, the Jazz organization took a poll among the players to determine which of their teammates have the best and worst style. Some of you may roll your eyes and wish Rudy would just stick to his game, but where is the fun in that? Gobert has the smarts to stay away from social media firestorms when he can resist, but when he can’t, it’s a sight to behold. His most meta post to date, perhaps to keep himself in check. He does need to add more weight and muscle, but I think he has the body type to do so.A photo posted by Rudy Gobert on at 1:12pm PST So as long as we don’t see Wembanyama get a lower-body injury, I don’t see anything else holding him back. Usually, once they sustain one injury, a majority will have the injury bug for the rest of their career which ultimately leads to early retirement. Unfortunately, if you look at the history of players over 7’2 in the NBA, many end up with a recurring foot and leg injuries from being too tall. If there is one negative about Wembanyama is his potential risk for injuries. If all of that is true, then we can be looking at the future greatest player of all time. Other comparisons include a 7’5 Kevin Durant or even as far as to say a combination of Kevin Durant, Rudy Gobert, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Chet Holmgren. Since there has never been anyone with that skill set, these are the only comparisons you can make. Also, Wembanyama can rebound with ease and is a tremendous rim protector. Obviously, he still needs to improve before he can dominate the NBA but for an 18-year-old, he’s got a solid shooting stroke, he can bring the ball up the court, and can move quickly enough to guard in space. What makes Victor Wembanyama stand out is he can do all of those things. A lot of them can’t either shoot, dribble, handle the ball, or move fast. Most tall players are only good due to their height. The scary part is there’s a small chance Wembanyama is still growing since some men grow till their early 20s, thus meaning Wembanyama could stand 7’6 or even 7’7 one day. He’ll be the second tallest player with the second longest wingspan in the NBA behind Tacko Fall. At just 18 years old, Wembanyama measures in at 7’5 with an astonishing 8-foot wingspan. But then there are a few players in the NBA that make the 7 footers look average, Victor Wembanyama will be added to that list. The average height in the NBA is close to 6’7 and anything above 7 feet would be considered tall. However, no one in the history of Basketball has the skill set or the talent Victor Wembanyama possesses. From Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Lebron James to Anthony Davis, the NBA is never short of talent. The NBA has seen a plethora of generational talents come through the pipeline.
